In spite of her upbringing, Amanda West became a Christian at the age of 16 after a classmate shared with her that Jesus Christ died on the cross to be her Savior. In just seven short months after receiving the Lord, Amanda went on her first short-term mission trip to the state of Kentucky with her youth group. She was able to minister at a girl’s group home called Hope Hill, a home for under priviledged and troubled girls that had gone through a lot of the same situations that Amanda had been subjected to in her early childhood years. It was the first time she realized God’s calling on her life to comfort others with the same comfort she had received from the Lord.
That was the beginning of many short-term mission trips for Amanda, but eventually the Lord called her to surrender to His will and become a long-term missionary in Kentucky.
Amanda is passionate about making the Gospel come alive to the youth in Powell County, Kentucky.
